The Banyas Family met the weekend of September 29th through October 1st, 2006 for their 6th Reunion. A change in venue brought us to the Outer Banks of North Carolina for our time together. Specifically, Avon, North Carolina. Our choice in accommodations was another change for us -- a combination of a house and motel rooms. The house was manned by Mary & Glenn (ie. the house parents), Mom, (Grandma Banyas), Cathrynn & Phillip and Josh and Zack and James. While the house was not luxurious -- it was clean and spacious and the main living area was a great gathering place. So great in fact -- that it was decided (???) that instead of eating out at a restaurant we would cook dinner. We took advantage of the fresh seafood available at Risky Business Seafood and supplemented the meal with frozen and fast food side dishes. Thank you Kenneth for being the purveyor of the seafood -- and thanks to Jeremy for cooking it. Okay -- I did cook the steamed shrimp which I think the pictures will prove was eaten by Kenneth, Phillip, & Glenn. |

The weather was beautiful -- not too cold -- not too hot and several of us swam. Plans for next years Reunion will start soon? It seems we liked the idea of the house -- especially for getting together -- so we will look into that again for next year -- but maybe somewhere a little closer. Suggestions? Oh, and we need a "slogan or motto" for the shirts!!!!! Email Mary your thoughts.
